One of the biggest things I am seeing right now is a huge amount of emotional burnout. Which is showing up as empathy and compassion fatigue or complete emotional detachment.

In many ways it feels like a pandemic of emotional burnout that no one is immune to and here is why.

What Is Emotional Burnout?

Well emotional burnout is when you are emotionally depleted, all your emotional reserves have been used up and way past your emotional overdraft.

You have reached a stage where you are so emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, completely numb or detached.

You have become emotionally shut down and no longer have the energy, the capacity to be emotionally present, respond or be able to truly care for those around you.

Emotional Burnout - Signs And Symptoms Of Emotional Burnout

Who Tends To Suffer From Emotional Burnout?

Emotional burnout is very common in empaths, sensitives, caregivers and medical professionals.

Emotional burnout is also highly prevalent in abusive environments and highly emotionally demanding jobs.

It is also commonly appears during grief, trauma, situations where we feel emotionally strained, fearful, controlled, manipulated and disempowered.

And where one suffers lack of emotional support and connection from the people and world around them.

It is one of the reasons why so many people started to become much more emotionally detached and emotionally burnout during and after covid.

And why there is even more emotional fatigue right now in a world where it feels almost every day we are being presented with all sorts of gaslighting, manipulation and hard emotional truths.

Recovering From Emotional Burnout

In many ways to recover from emotional burnout,

you need to first recognise and accept there is a problem,

so you can take the necessary steps to heal and recover.

This is such an important time for you to go inwards and to up level your mental, emotional and physical self care.

The symptoms of emotional burnout are a big sign you need more self-compassion and self-love.

Essential Oils For Emotional Burnout

If you love essential oils rose, frankincense and ylang ylang oil are just a few oils that can be very helpful to add to your routine such as to your bath, body or simply diffuse.

I prefer to apply to a blend of oils with a carrier oil which I put in a small jar or roller ball and temples and or use in my bath.

Rose is very gentle and soothing on the heart,

Frankincense is very grounding and protecting.

Ylang Ylang oil is emotionally soothing and healing on the nervous system.
