Hurt People Hurt People Every Single Day.

One of the biggest tragedies of human suffering is how much damage we can cause to others through our own hurt, our own trauma, and wounding.

No one is exempt from it…

Hurt towards others is driven by an ingrained defence system, that tries to protects the ego. Mostly from our own fragility, self-esteem, emotional wounding or painful truths.

Hurt People Hurt People Due To Mostly Unconscious Reasons

So Many Hurt People Are Unaware Of The Harm They Cause Others

The problem is that a lot of the harm we cause is not conscious or even obvious.

So much harm comes from a lack of awareness, insight, assumptions, fear and/or self protection.

Most people today go around in a daze, absolutely oblivious to the world and people around them because they are on autopilot.

Or so stuck in the anxiety-stress cycle that their automated response to everyday things is very much like a survival response.

So much so, their responses can appear uncaring, even brutal, cowardly, selfish, hurtful, or even neglectful.

The Archetypal Lens Hurt People See Through

Every single one of us have wounds, especially inner child wounds that shape how we respond to life, people, situations is related to how we see and experience the world.

In many ways our beliefs and reactions reflect the archetypal lens through which we view a situation or even ourselves.

The Victim Wound

For example, when someone sees a situation through the ruler or leader archetype, they will often see the situation very differently from someone looking at the event through the victim lens or even the rescuer lens. When we identify as a victim, we react from the pain and suffering of previous wounding that left us in victimhood.

The Wounded Healer Wound

It is the same in healing, coaching, and therapy; if we only look at clients or even ourselves through one lens, the lend we over identify with, well we miss the often bigger and sometimes deeper picture.

Many of us become coaches, healers and therapists to help heal and empower others due to our personal challenges, tragedies and emotional wounds. Some we may have healed, but there is still many we carry.

And it is why many of the best coaches, healers, therapists, and even those who empower others are those who can see the people around them and, importantly, themselves through a wider archetypal perspective.

Knowing how important it is to bring the unconscious to the conscious and to come from a place of deep compassion, so they can bring out the best in their clients, their relationships, and their work environment.

Something I will be teaching in my new Soul-Led Coaching and Mentoring Certification coming soon.

We all have wounds, we all have triggers, we are all a work in progress, but we need to do what we can to stop leaking those wounds into our work.

I explore more of this in my Introduction Module: Understanding The Wounded Healer Within and in some of my more recent videos on YouTube.

Wishing you a kind and blessed week
