I was reminded this morning of the 4 things that help us get into our own flow state, not someone else’s idea of flow. As we are all unique, we all move, process, and do things at our own natural speed and state. And then I remembered something else that I do almost every day to get into a state of flow!

Why Sensitives Can Struggle To Get Into The Flow State In The Modern World

Sensitive people, especially empaths, struggle to get into flow state for so many reasons. But mainly because they are so easily overstimulated and overwhelmed by the stimuli around them. They get ungrounded, uncentred, and out of alignment. Empaths are often so engaged in the emotions and suffering of others that they actually disconnect from themselves and their own natural rhythm.

So What Is The Flow State?

The flow state is a state of being where you are so immersed in the experience that you lose sense of self and time, consciousness. Whatever you are doing or focusing on is effortless as time seems to stand still.

The term “flow state” was coined by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s “flow theory”.

But if you view being in the flow from a more spiritual perspective, you are simply aligning yourself with your own natural state of being, with the natural rhythm of life, and the divine energy of god.

Than trying to work against it by trying to force or manipulate things that are not your divine nature.

No 1 Being Grounded

When you are grounded, you are in the path of least resistance.

Why, because your mind, body, emotions, and spirit are earthed into a state of balance, harmony, and connectedness to the natural world around us. Most people today are very ungrounded, especially empaths and sensitives. [Grounding Tips]

No 2 Stillness And Presence

The more stillness we bring into our lives, the more present we become with the small things, the small things that signal what is right for us and what is not.

When we are constantly in a busy, and doing state, we miss those signs, follow our triggers, our fears, our monkey mind, or even someone else’s programming. Instead of listening to our own inner guidance and flow state.

No 3 Being Open

The more we are open to all sorts of possibilities and let go of our need to control things, the more we move away from resistance.

The challenge is not just opening our minds, but our hearts and souls to be open enough to receive. That can be a hard one for so many of us, who are so used to overgiving, overdoing, even overfeeling other people’s stuff.

The reason why 4 is so important

No 4 Letting Go

Letting go of what is not in the vibration of what you want. This involves recognising the things that are keeping you stuck, eating up valuable time. And includes letting go of the situations you are trying to control. It requires a certain surrender and trust that all is good and good is coming.

Flow in life, work, purpose, and even health is more likely to come when we release the reins. Sometimes we are so fixed on how we think something should happen that we close ourselves off to the small things and the bigger things that can make that shift.

It happens to us all; the key is recognising it and making those small shifts that move us back towards flow.

No 5 Get Creative

Being Creative is one of the most powerful and fun ways to get creative. And it is a key thing I do on most days to get into a state of flow in my business. There are so many different ways to be creative; the key is finding your own creative outlet. Everyone is creative in their own way; they don’t always realise it. And the great thing about getting into the creative flow state is that it helps improve your intuition.
